Julie Taylor

Chair
Julie is Chief Executive and Principal of Thomas Deacon Academy, Peterborough, one of the largest academies in the country with over 2000 pupils aged 7-19, which she has taken from RI to good in her first two years in post. The Thomas Deacon Academy opened in Peterborough in 2007 and was one of the first academies to be created. Three predecessor schools amalgamated into one large academy for 2200 students and a staff of 380 in a building designed by Sir Norman Foster. This is her third headship, having previously been Headteacher at a community school in Fareham and then Principal at an academy in Hampshire. She has worked as a teacher in many parts of the country including Manchester, Rochdale, Oldham, her native South Wales, the Isle of Wight and Bury St Edmunds. She is passionate about developing student leadership, and about innovative school building design to support use of ICT to drive school improvement. She is the elected Chair of Schools of Tomorrow, a Microsoft Global Partner in Learning, as well as national state school representative on the Executive Board of the Combined Cadet Force Association.

Malcolm Groves

Joint Managing Director
Malcolm has over 40 years experience at the forefront of educational innovation, embracing primary and secondary education, youth work and adult education. He has been a registered OFSTED inspector, local authority inspector, school improvement partner, NPQH assessor, and national adviser to SSAT, where among other things he introduced tailored improvement programmes for specialist schools in challenging circumstances, school and community engagement development programmes, and international professional development for teachers. He holds a doctorate in school leadership at the University of Warwick and has contributed to the research and writing of the leadership curriculum for NCTL. His book 'Regenerating Schools', published by Continuum in 2008, was described by Professor Brian Caldwell as 'outstanding'. He is an accredited member and a director of the Society of Education Consultants and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Anne works as a consultant following 18 years service as a headteacher in 3 schools. She is a National Leader of Education, chair of a Teaching School Alliance, and a trustee of the Eastern Leadership Centre. She is passionate about leadership development and succession planning and has coached a number of senior leaders into headship. She has extensive governance experience - including Academy governance.

Clive Corbett

Lead Director for Fellowship
In August 2017 Clive Corbett retired as Head teacher of Pershore High School after 15 years in the post and 38 in education altogether. Pershore is a very successful school for 1150 students, aged 12 to 18, consistently rated good with outstanding features by OFSTED. He is a Local Leader in Education, Fellow of the University of Worcester, and was Chair of the Worcestershire Schools Forum. Prior to that, he was Deputy Head Teacher and senior leader in three secondary schools over 23 years. Pershore High School has since 1st August 2017 been part of the Avonreach Academy Trust and for a number of years a Teaching School Alliance strategic partner. Clive is the Lead Director for the Schools of Tomorrow (SoTo) Fellowship. He was one of the founders of Schools of Tomorrow and has been closely involved in all of the work that led up to its inception and subsequent development. His particular responsibility in the role will be the quality assurance and growth of the SoTo Fellowship. He believes passionately in the need to secure the well-being of young people, through the support of local communities, so that they are prepared for the future in the broadest sense of the word. Clive’s experience also includes being: • Facilitator on the Leadership for Tomorrow and Innovative Leadership for the Future programmes; • Winner of the Leadership Award for the West Midlands in 2000; • Governor of the Aspire Academy (Worcester) Free School; • Trustee of the Pershore Riverside Youth Centre; • Local Facilitator/Coach/Mentor for the NPQH; • Educational projects with four European schools as part of the Comenius project, and a Zambian school as part of British Council work; • Teacher Advocate work; and • Member of the SSAT Head teachers’ Steering Group and Chair of the Community Expert Panel. Clive now runs a limited company, CorbettNco Limited, that is involved in educational consultancy and publishing. In addition to his involvement in SoTo, his work includes: • Supporting governors in headteacher performance reviews and School Improvement Partner (SIP) work; • Improvement project work for Worcestershire County Council; • Executive Officer of the Avonreach Academy Trust; • SIP for a Teaching School Alliance SCITT; • Involvement in a one year programme run by the School for Social Entrepreneurs in London – the Lloyds Bank Trade Up scheme. He is determined to still find time to add to the three books that he has so far written on his beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club.

She is an NLE and has supported school leaders and governors with issues to do with federation, early years practice and well-being. She believes in using a holistic early years approach with any age of learner, and puts well-being and involvement at the heart of everything she does.
