ABOUT THE DAY This event is for school leaders from all phases and student leaders of secondary age. It has been jointly organised by students from our schools, with support from the Comino Foundation, and its aim is to explore principles of co-agency in the developing the role of young people as change-makers in their schools and communities. The conference will do this through four themes and key questions: • Compassion for the Planet - How could our school become a better ancestor? • Agency and Leadership - How could our school make more effective use of student voices in this? • Preparation for the future - How can our school better prepare young people to understand and shape their futures? • Challenges for education - What challenges does all this pose for schools today and how could we start to meet them? By the end of the day we hope you will have: • Reflected on and deepened your understanding of the part your school can play in shaping a better tomorrow. • Renewed your commitment to the constructive role of student voice in school development • identified some practical next steps to improve the way your school equips students to understand and shape their futures. The conference will also mark the launch of the pilot for a new programme called Ambassadors of Tomorrow.
