In August 2017 Clive Corbett retired as Head teacher of Pershore High School after 15 years in the post and 38 in education altogether. Pershore is a very successful school for 1150 students, aged 12 to 18, consistently rated good with outstanding features by OFSTED. He is a Local Leader in Education, Fellow of the University of Worcester, and was Chair of the Worcestershire Schools Forum. Prior to that, he was Deputy Head Teacher and senior leader in three secondary schools over 23 years. Pershore High School has since 1st August 2017 been part of the Avonreach Academy Trust and for a number of years a Teaching School Alliance strategic partner.

Clive is the Lead Director for the Schools of Tomorrow (SoTo) Fellowship. He was one of the founders of Schools of Tomorrow and has been closely involved in all of the work that led up to its inception and subsequent development. His particular responsibility in the role will be the quality assurance and growth of the SoTo Fellowship. He believes passionately in the need to secure the well-being of young people, through the support of local communities, so that they are prepared for the future in the broadest sense of the word.
Clive’s experience also includes being:
• Facilitator on the Leadership for Tomorrow and Innovative Leadership for the Future programmes;
• Winner of the Leadership Award for the West Midlands in 2000;
• Governor of the Aspire Academy (Worcester) Free School;
• Trustee of the Pershore Riverside Youth Centre;
• Local Facilitator/Coach/Mentor for the NPQH;
• Educational projects with four European schools as part of the Comenius project, and a Zambian school as part of British Council work;
• Teacher Advocate work; and
• Member of the SSAT Head teachers’ Steering Group and Chair of the Community Expert Panel.

Clive now runs a limited company, CorbettNco Limited, that is involved in educational consultancy and publishing. In addition to his involvement in SoTo, his work includes:
• Supporting governors in headteacher performance reviews and School Improvement Partner (SIP) work;
• Improvement project work for Worcestershire County Council;
• Executive Officer of the Avonreach Academy Trust;
• SIP for a Teaching School Alliance SCITT;
• Involvement in a one year programme run by the School for Social Entrepreneurs in London – the Lloyds Bank Trade Up scheme.
He is determined to still find time to add to the three books that he has so far written on his beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club.
