Following a superb workshop with Bill Lucas last November, we are inviting schools with an interest in taking an action research approach to ‘re-thinking assessment’ to join our community of practice.
The intention is to support each other in an individual two year action research, development and change programme, tailored by you to your context and priorities, across 2022 and 2023.
It will involve you challenging your own assumptions about assessment practice in your school through engaging with your stakeholders and testing out new possibilities. You will share both challenges and progress with other schools in a supportive, flexible and responsive environment, keep a record of your experience, and also produce a final video to capture the learning from it.
Membership of the group will involve a commitment to active participation through a key staff contact. Whilst being flexible and mindful of what your school can manage right now, we hope you will be able to carry through a valuable piece of school-based research that will both support your longer-term school development and also help others.
We will offer you access to some individual school support time from our advisers Brian Lightman and John West-Burnham plus wider support from Bill Lucas and his Re-Thinking assessment colleagues. Additional time may be purchased if wanted.
If you’d still like to join the group, please let us know by September 15.
