STUDENT-LED RESEARCH - THE BEGINNING

Building on our experience of including four school students in our first Supporters Day in November 2012, we have established a policy of involving pupils and students directly in all our research and development. Eight member schools around the country agreed to act as our first Learner Hubs to take this principle forward, and 50 students and school leaders came together for the first time on June 5th 2013 to share developments, engage with our developing think pieces, and design ways to get their message across to policy-makers. Watch their video 'Dreams and Wishes' here http://vimeo.com/69757266.

This was built on significantly in 2014 when a group of students met at Warwick University for training in research skills. They have been contributing to the development of our new Fellowship by planning a school-based research project in to the questions: How does my school think creatively about the future? How does it prepare me for the future and help me to shape that future? The report on their work, 'Shaping our Futures - Developing student-led research as a springboard for school transformation', jointly published with SSAT, was launched at Manchester Metropolitan University on June 3 2015. Students from six hub schools present reports on their progress, The Hollins Technology College, Tavistock Primary School, Pershore High School, Lakers School, Thomas Deacon Academy, and the RSA Academy, Tipton.

The other downloads at present are the Beauchamp Papers which have been uploaded but nor linked. They are:

The Beauchamp Papers 2013-2015 are a collection of new think pieces, ongoing research and live practical case studies of change, which together explore the themes, rationale, and practical implications of the Schools of Tomorrow Framework. All are available for free download here or on iBooks or Yudu.
