How we began

Schools of Tomorrow was launched at the RSA in October 2013 to take forward a shared ambition. As a group of school leaders, we come together with a strong belief that community engagement changes schools for the better, and that schools can help to change communities for the better. Above all, we believe schools and communities working together can radically transform the futures of young people.

The most effective, truly outstanding, schools not only secure high levels of achievement, in every sense, for all their students, but also lie at the heart of their communities – this is the essence of the Schools of Tomorrow Four Quadrant Framework.

Our mission is to turn that rhetoric into reality in our schools today.

“Let us not imagine that we are going to create the outstanding school of tomorrow by continuing to try to incrementally improve the school of today

..… we need to re-conceptualize completely.”

Quotes from participants

“I left enthused and agree it is time to rethink education. I would like to play a part (however small) in the thinking and revisioning process.”

“Congratulations once again for the excellent event! It is a wonderful platform for interaction and learning through sharing. It is your success that you have created a very good dynamic of people who can lead change in their contexts.”
