Why become a member of the Schools of Tomorrow Fellowship?

“The SoTo Fellowship has supported us so well in continuously developing our school and its communities to become they best they can be.”

Goldington Green Academy

By joining the Fellowship your school commits to shared values, long-term collaborative learning and development, and a process of deep-rooted, organic change to make learning more future-facing.

The Fellowship provides a distinctive opportunity for research and development, creative thinking and vigorous critical friendship for schools, school leaders, and their stakeholders.

It differs from other understandings of school improvement in that it:

  • Is future-facing and context-related;
  • Involves the full range of stakeholders;
  • Takes account of complexity thinking to better understand how sustainable organisational change can best be achieved amidst the swiftly changing realities of the modern world;
  • Is underpinned by our four-quadrant framework of purpose, quality and outcomes.

There are several ways in which you can be involved:

Full Fellowship

Full fellowship is open to any school that has completed a two-year induction, and affirmed its engagement to an ongoing values-led, research-informed partnership and to work for long-term change based around the four quadrant framework.

It costs £500 per school p.a. plus £1 per pupil for schools with fewer than 750 pupils and £600 plus £1 per pupil for schools with more than 750 pupils.

Fellowship is a mutual commitment. Fellowship schools commit to:

  • Embedding the four-quadrant framework in their planning and review processes.
  • Engaging in mutual support and challenge from other Fellowship schools, making use of Gauging Success, a unique tool developed by our school leaders, to self-review progress and develop an annual impact report.
  • Building their levels of stakeholder engagement, with students, staff, parents and communities, and develop real conversations with them about purpose and quality.
  • Sharing and learning with other Fellowship schools through collaborative enquiry.

Full Fellowship Members also benefit from:

  • Outstanding professional development opportunities, free to members
  • Open access to our weekly ZoomMeet programme of professional development
  • Free annual conference
  • Free 24 hour residential for heads
  • Associate membership of the Expansive Education Network
  • Access to the Teaching Times Knowledge Banks
  • Fellowship dashboard and online forums

Trust membership

We are currently engaging with several multi-academy trusts to develop bespoke models of corporate membership. Because of the huge variation in the size and nature of trusts and their stages of development, we take time to discuss with each trust leadership a pattern of membership that works for them in their individual context. For a no-obligation conversation, contact us through the link below.
